Konica Minolta is committed to the development and design of environmentally conscious products. To ensure that our bizhub MFPs meet our stringent criteria throughout every stage of production, we only procure raw materials, parts, and components with low environmental impact.

Environmental Production Process

When Konica Minolta manufactures products, we take into account the various environmental aspects of our products. We assess the environmental impact at each stage in a product's lifecycle, from raw material/part procurement to manufacture, transportation/sale, use, reuse/recycling and disposal. We’ve established assessment criteria that enable us to take appropriate measures from a comprehensive viewpoint. During the planning & design phases of new products, numerical targets are set for environmental goals, regarding items of standard product assessment. During the prototype phase, we check whether the targets are being met. Then we do a final assessment before production, to ensure that only products meeting the targets reach the market.

Konica Minolta is committed to reducing the consumption of raw materials and energy during production. To save resources, we constantly strive to minimise the size, weight, and material thickness of our products. This also helps to limit the environmental impact upon product disposal.

In addition, Konica Minolta has established a system for free-of-charge collecting and recycling of used toner cartridges in Europe, the U.S. and Japan. This program is currently being implemented in roughly 20 countries.

Green Procurement

Konica Minolta believes that it’s our duty as manufacturers to offer products with low environmental impact.

To achieve this goal, Konica Minolta has undertaken a global Green Procurement Policy. We keep the environment in mind during every phase of the design and development of our products, and only procure raw materials, parts, and components with low environmental impact.

Our Green Procurement Policy places emphasis not just on the materials, but it gives preference to procuring these materials from suppliers with active commitments to the environment. Our stringent policy includes assessing the substances contained in raw materials and parts, as well as evaluating our suppliers’ environmental management systems. In addition, we actively promote the reduction and management of hazardous chemical substances in the supply chain, and have established strong partnerships with suppliers to reduce environmental risks.
