Konica Minolta Business Solutions (UK) Recognised as a Green Hero

Green Hero 2010

Konica Minolta Business Solutions (UK) (hereafter BGB) was chosen as a 'Green Hero' by the Green Organisation, an independent, non-political, non-profit organisation that recognises, rewards and promotes environmental best practice around the world. This special honour is reserved for previous Green Apple Award winners* that go the extra mile for environmental commitment and awareness. BGB's accomplishments related to their award-winning 'Going Green with the Blues' project (details below) will be featured in the Green Book, the world's only work of reference on environmental best practice. The company also received a wall shield to commemorate their 'Green Hero' status and representatives from the company will attend a special award ceremony at the House of Commons in London later this year. The Green Organisation's national organizer, Roger Wolens, commented, "Organisations that go the extra mile and become 'Green Heroes' are demonstrating a serious commitment to the world around them."

"We were delighted to receive the Green Hero Award 2010 for environmental best practice. To have won is a fantastic achievement and this really demonstrates our hard work and commitment to our management philosophy of caring for the environment," said James Neville, Quality & Environmental Officer. "Konica Minolta has been nationally recognised as an environmental industry leader in the UK."

That recognition may also translate into new business for BGB. "We often mention our 'Green Hero' status within BGB's tenders," notes Natasha Jugessur, Quality & Environmental Officer. Clients are more likely to look favorably upon Konica Minolta if they know how committed to the environment the company truly is.

* BGB was given the Green Apple Award in 2009. The Award is presented annually to companies,
councils and communities carrying out projects that enhance the environment.
