We are pleased to inform you that Konica Minolta Business Solutions (UK) Ltd was awarded yet another business award for Environmental Awareness on 17 July, 2009 at the Basildon Business Awards Ceremony.

Our serious competitors included, among others, such corporations as Ford Motor Company and IFDS, which made qualifying for the finals a remarkable achievement in itself, to say nothing of winning.

The purpose of this award is to recognize companies that could best ‘demonstrate a clearly articulated and widely communicated strategy that is incorporated into their overall business strategy. Companies actively committed to sound environmental practice to reduce their impact on the environment’.

In order to apply for the award, Konica Minolta submitted an application package and later, upon reaching the finals, our team received a field visit from three judges who reviewed our environmental performance.

The judges were particularly impressed with our ‘Going Green with the Blues’ CSR project. For those unfamiliar with this undertaking, we had created an education program for primary school children to increase awareness of environmental issues and the imperative to take positive improvement steps. The program has been adopted by 20 schools thus far as a pilot and is presented by a local football team, which naturally and immediately makes it appealing to the children. The program is proving to be such a considerable success that we have recently presented it to the football league, whose members expressed their intention to make it a nationwide project.
