Konica Minolta has developed and manufactured a Simitri Polymerised Toner, produced by using a polymerisation process to achieve an approximately 40% reduction in CO₂ emissions during production, as compared with toners produced by conventional pulverisation methods. We use the Simitri Polymerised Toner for many of our MFPs and printers, thereby greatly reducing CO₂ emissions during production.

Because the Simitri Polymerised Toner uses finer and uniformly shaped particles, it can be fixed at a lower temperature. This cuts power consumption in the fixing process.

In 2006, we released the Simitri HD Polymerised Toner, which is capable of fixing at a temperature about 20°C lower than the original Simitri Polymerised Toner, enabling users to further reduce energy consumption by roughly 15%.
